Privacy notice

CarrTech.dev collects only the information needed to run user accounts, provide site features, send requested emails, and understand whether the site is useful.

Information collected

Account registration collects your name, email address, password credentials handled by the authentication system, email verification status, avatar image if you upload one, and your optional newsletter or YouTube notification preferences. Signed-in article tools may also store quiz attempts, badge awards, asset download links, and temporary terminal-session records.

How email addresses are used

Your email address is used for account verification, password reset, email-change confirmation, important service messages, and optional emails you actively choose to receive. Newsletter and YouTube notification preferences can be changed from account settings.

Lawful basis

Account and security emails are processed because they are necessary to provide and protect your account. Newsletter and YouTube notification emails are processed only when you consent to receive them. Site analytics are used only after you allow analytics cookies.

Sharing and processors

Data is stored in the site database and may be processed by hosting, database, email delivery, media storage, and analytics providers used to operate CarrTech.dev. These providers are used only for site operation and delivery of requested services.

Retention

Account data is retained while your account exists. Marketing preferences are retained until you change them or ask for deletion, with suppression records retained where needed to prevent unwanted email. Temporary terminal-session records and short-lived download links are retained only as needed to provide those features.

Your choices

You can update your account details, withdraw newsletter or notification consent, and change cookie preferences on the site. You can also ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing where those rights apply. Concerns can be raised with CarrTech.dev first, and UK users also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
